The 4th Annual Boom Chapbook Contest is open to submissions from
15 September 2009 until 31 December 2009.
2009 Contest Rules
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all writers. Age and previous book publication are not considerations for eligibility.
Poems published in periodicals may be included in the manuscript.
Please, no submissions from students or close friends of the editors.
READING FEE
$12 entry fee must come with EACH entry by deadline or entries will not be considered.
Manuscripts will NOT be returned.
You may pay by credit card online or by check via post.
Make checks payable to Bateau Press.
FORMAT
—between 20 and 30 pages must be typed (clear photocopies are fine)
—2 title pages
1- title of the manuscript and contact info.
2- book title only
—A biographical profile is not necessary.
—Acknowledgements page will be separated from manuscript during reading and is therefore not included in consideration.
****FOR ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS:
Submit the title page with contact info and acknowledgements page as a SEPARATE ENTRY from your chapbook. (ie. Your chapbook and book title only page should be one entry and the title page with contact info and acknowledgements page - if applicable - should be another. Uploaded separately.)
COMPENSATION
The winner will receive $500 and copies of the winning chapbook.
The winning chapbook will be a high quality printing with letterpress cover.
To get a very good idea of the production, order any of our previous winners.
DEADLINE
Deadline for submission is a December 31, 2009 postmark.
